This is a special message for colleagues who worked in all Welsh stores from Jack Evans, Adult Careers Guidance Office from Careers Wales North West :

Any Woolworths colleague who had contracted hours of 16 hours a week or more (not agency workers) should be entitled to £2500 Redundancy Action Funding for vocational training. We are also able to offer £2080 to prospective employers as a recruitment incentive.

This scheme is funded by the Welsh Assembly.

See http://wales.gov.uk/topics/educationandskills/fundingsupportadvice/worklearning/gettingbacktowork/redundancyaction/?lang=en

Colleagues from Rhyl and Prestatyn have already had a briefing on this from JobCentre Plus.

The procedure for obtaining the above grant involves an interview with Careers Wales staff at any local office.
