Have you thought about becoming a foster carer? Fostering can be a most rewarding career. Children and young people need to live with foster carers for periods of a few days, a few months, and sometimes until they reach adulthood.

Do you have what it takes to be a foster carer? The most important thing is that you need to genuinely like young people and believe that with the right support and environment they have the potential to make positive changes to their lives. It helps if you have had experience with children, either through your own family experience or through your work. You need patience, energy and an ability to work with others.You do need a spare room, too.

St Christopher’s Fostering is seeking foster carers in London, West Sussex, Essex, Thurrock and Southend, and the West Midlands. We particularly need carers who can take sibling groups, children with challenging behaviours, teenagers and parents and babies.

We pay very generous allowances  (the Government makes generous tax concessions to foster carers). We provide excellent training and support, round the clock. You will be a valued member of the team supporting the child to turn their life around.
